By placing an order on our website, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. Applicability

These Terms apply to all orders, purchases, and agreements made through our website or any online sales channel.
Dutch law and EU consumer protection rules apply.

3. Products

We sell handmade products including candles, wax melts, room sprays, car diffusers, gift boxes, and related fragrance items.

Because our products are handmade, slight variations in color, size, or appearance may occur. This is considered normal and not a defect.

All products must be used according to the safety instructions provided on the label or product page.

4. Pricing & Payment

All prices are listed in EUR (€) and include VAT unless stated otherwise.

We accept common online payment methods (iDEAL, credit card, PayPal, Klarna, etc., depending on website setup).

We reserve the right to change prices at any time, but products will always be charged at the price shown at checkout.

5. Shipping & Delivery

We ship from the Netherlands to domestic and international locations.

Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed.
Delays caused by carriers (PostNL, DHL, UPS, etc.) are outside our control.

The customer is responsible for providing a correct address. Lost parcels due to incorrect address entries are not refundable.

6. Cooling-Off Period / Right of Withdrawal (EU Law)

Consumers in the EU have a 14-day cooling-off period from the day they receive their order.

However, the right of withdrawal does NOT apply to:
– used candles or wax melts
– opened fragrances
– personalized/custom candles (e.g., custom labels, custom text)
– products that cannot be returned for hygiene reasons once opened (e.g., room sprays)

To return an eligible item, the customer must notify us by email within 14 days of delivery.

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the product arrived damaged.

7. Returns & Refunds

To qualify for a refund, products must be returned unused, unopened, and in original condition.

Damaged or defective products must be reported within 48 hours of delivery with photo/video proof.

Refunds will be issued within 14 days after we receive and inspect the returned goods.

8. Custom & Personalized Orders

Custom products (e.g., custom candles, custom labels, custom gift boxes) are made specifically for the customer and are not eligible for cancellation, return, or refund, unless damaged on arrival.

9. Safety Disclaimer

Customers must always follow the safety instructions provided with each product.
We are not responsible for damage caused by misuse such as:

– leaving a burning candle unattended
– burning a candle near flammable items
– using a wax melt burner incorrectly
– leaving room sprays on sensitive surfaces
– not trimming wicks
– ignoring heat or ventilation precautions

All products are for intended household use only.

10. Allergies & Sensitivities

Our products contain fragrance oils. It is the customer’s responsibility to check for possible allergens.
We list allergen information according to EU CLP regulations.

If you experience irritation, discontinue use immediately.

11. Intellectual Property

All branding, photos, product names, labels, packaging designs, and website content belong to Scent Stories by Joanna.
They may not be copied, modified, or reproduced without written permission.

12. Order Acceptance & Cancellation

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order if:
– a product is out of stock
– payment is not received
– there is suspected fraud
– the order violates our policies

If we cancel an order, you will receive a full refund.

13. Liability

Our total liability shall not exceed the price paid for the product in question.
We are not liable for consequential damages such as:
– injury caused by incorrect use
– damage to property
– reactions due to allergies
– incorrect delivery information provided by the customer
